We are pleased to announce that OGC has successfully concluded a comprehensive Leadership Program Evaluation for our esteemed client and consulting collaborator, Gwen Webber-McLeod, who serves as the president and CEO of Gwen, Inc. The OGC team and Gwen, Inc. would like to highlight Arlaina Harris for her exceptional leadership in guiding the team through the qualitative research methodology employed in this initiative.
Gwen, Inc. submitted a proposal in response to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County (HSC) 2021. The Mission of HSC is to enhance the provision of health and human services in the Tompkins County area. Under the leadership of their Executive Director, Cindy Wilcox, HSC is dedicated to expanding access to resources and fostering leadership development opportunities for emerging and established Leaders of Color (LOC) in the region. The RFP sought proposals for an innovative program designed to support LOC within the non-profit sector across the region.
Gwen and a consulting partner, Kathy Adams, structured an 18-month Mastermind Pilot program that offered comprehensive support to LOC across six critical areas (refer to the attached Executive Summary for details). In essence, the Mastermind Pilot yielded successful results, garnering high commendation from both the participants and HSC.
The pilot program catered to aspiring and existing Executive Directors within the not-for-profit sector in Tompkins County. Gwen and Kathy held monthly sessions for the group participants. Each session ran for 3 hours covering various topics pertaining to leadership development and not-for-profit competencies. The participants also took advantage of personalized 1-on-1 coaching and Individual Development Plans (IDP's).
In an effort to capture the impact of this Mastermind Pilot, OGC used a “Theory of Change” framework to assess the program's impact. Through surveys, virtual interviews, and attending group sessions, our team captured valuable insights from both the participants and some of the leaders that opted-out of the Mastermind Pilot. It truly was an honor and privilege to collaborate with Gwen Webber-McLeod and Kathy Adams. OGC looks forward to future collaborations with Gwen, Inc. and bringing the Mastermind Pilot to Onondaga County as well!
